To go from the early stages of development through to a field deployment of your solution using this hardware requires comprehensive design resources. Alpha Data provide a wide range of development and reference resources to aid in the development of both the FPGA design, and any associated host or embedded CPU control application.
Board Specific Reference designs provide essential targeted examples for each product, demonstrating how to use the key I/O attached resources. These designs are provided as source code for use with AMD design tools such as Vivado and Vitis. Where the on-board chip contains an embedded CPU these example designs are centred around that CPU. For boards with PCIe connectivity, host based drivers and API libraries with reference example code is also provided targeted to the specific board.
For general debug, Alpha Data also provide a common system monitoring and board control application, which can operate over USB or IPMI, essential in cases where the FPGA PCIe endpoint becomes inaccessible.
When using Alpha Data board assemblies comprising FPGA cards and I/O adapters for Analogue Data, Video or Image Capture and Processing, highly specialised reference designs and frameworks are required, and Alpha Data provide a range of demonstration designs and support for development on these platforms.
Alpha Data also operate at the bleeding edge of FPGA hardware and firmware development, and frequently publish white papers and applications notes, often with example application designs to show what is possible using the Alpha Data hardware.
