Analogue to Digital Data Conversion

JESD204B:

The FMC-DA4, XRM2-DA5 and XRM2-ADC-S11B are based around JESD204B capable devices, and the XRM2 module reference designs for the parent Alpha Data FPGA board contains an Alpha Data developed JESD204B solution provided to the end user free of additional charge.
The reference design for these board combinations supports data capture FPGA firmware and host transport over PCIe for detailed analysis.

Parallel Bus:

For lowest latency, XRM2 modules such as XRM2-ADC-D6, XRM2-ADC-D7, XRM2-ADC-Q8, XRM2-ADC-D9, XRM2-ADC-D10, XRM2-DAC-D3, XRM2-DAC-D4, have a parallel bus between the data converter and the FPGA. A common XRM2 module reference design for parent Alpha Data FPGA boards supports data capture and signal generation from the FPGA and data transport over PCIe to the host, which also runs an example control application.

RFSoC:

The ADM-XRC-9R1, has 8×4(or5) GSPS ADCs and 8x 6.5(or 10) GSPS integrated into the device. The standard board reference design for the ADM-XRC-9R1 includes examples of how to configure these.

Video and Image Capture

CameraLink:

Alpha Data FPGA boards supplied with XRM2-CLINK-MINI, XRM2-CLINK-GIGE or FMC-CAMERALINK can use the CL3 Cameralink Capture reference design for the parent FPGA card and use the host Cameralink capture and control software. This requires an Alpha Data FPGA or MPSoC card and is not supported on other manufacturers boards.

Coaxpress:

Alpha Data FPGA boards supplied with XRM2-COAXPRESS/R8 or FMC-COAXPRESS can also use the CL3 Cameralink Capture reference design for the parent FPGA card and use the host Coaxpress capture and control software.

Alpha Data can provide, on request, example designs for our FPGA cards connected to XRM2 modules with low speed and high speed digital interfaces.
For high speed interfaces these are typically protocol agnostic IBERT examples.
