IT Support & Infrastructure Technician (AD-IT3)

Alpha Data is looking for a motivated and supportive IT professional for an on-site role to support day to day IT issues, as well as maintaining and expanding the companies IT infrastructure. The role has the scope to grow into the areas of IT management, and DevOps/Build System implementation and management.

The Alpha Data IT environment supports a range of users and includes tooling for cutting edge AMD SoC devices. Infrastructure includes on-prem, multi-national, and cloud-based systems. Alpha Data has a commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of its IT systems while providing an environment that fosters engineering innovation.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

• Good analytical and problem-solving ability
• Good communication skills and ability to manage own workload
• Windows and Linux server administration and management
• Active Directory administration (basic knowledge)
• Scripting experience in bash, power shell, dos etc.
• Networking experience, (including VLANs, but not essential)
• Virtual Machine management
• Handling sensitive data

Bonus Skills:

• C/C++, and Java programming experience.
• Docker/Podman
• Jenkins, other CI
• Website development
• Database management
• EntraID

Duties likely to include:

• User-support / resolution of day-to-day IT issues
• Administration of software licenses
• Administration of the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager product
• Engineering Lab IT assistant/technician
• IT inventory management
• Certificate management
• Linux Mirror managing
• System provisioning
• Backup duties
• Confluence / Jira / SharePoint Admin (or equivalent products)
• Jenkins nodes support, dev-ops manager for Jenkins

Salary:

Starting salary 25k-45k. + health and other benefits.

Required Experience:

The role is open to both graduate level, and experienced IT professionals.

HND, BSc, or BEng. academic qualifications, or other IT professional certification preferred.

Eligibility:

Due to the nature of this role and the potential need to access sensitive customer environments, UK nationality, existing BPSS clearance, or eligibility for UK Security Clearance may be required. These requirements will be assessed in accordance with applicable legislation and security protocols.
